Windows has a default image that appears at the system startup. After many times of using, this image can get boring for users. This little and free application allows you to change this image with any other bitmap, provided it has several well-defined characteristics, i.e., its size must be of 640 x 480 pixels and it must be in 16 colors.
The program is very light and easy to use. You only need to download and install it, and then click on its icon. By default, the program starts along with Windows. When you click on its icon, a confirmation window appears, telling you that the bitmap has been automatically changed. This is one of the program's disadvantages, since you can't choose which bitmap to set as the default one. The window also tells you how many different bitmaps are available, and the number of new bitmaps in the list of available images. The program comes with nine assorted images to use, and you can add as many as you want. Simply choose any image with an image editor such as Windows Paint and change its properties to comply with the required standards of 640 x 480 pixels, 16 colors and bitmap format, and save it in the corresponding folder.
